Results

      W.J. Murray Tannery stood behind the Brooklin brick mill on Lynde Creek. It was built in 1854 by Moses Bartlett and was later taken over by William J. Murray. The tannery was struck by lightning on June 3, 1890 putting 25 men out of work.

      The pony was loaned by the Miller Brothers of Brougham. The horse is "General Duke" one of the Clydesdales imported into Canada.

      The W.J. Murray Tannery burned down in June 1890. The brick mill was built in 1848 by Robert Campbell. The Methodist Church was built in 1867 and was located at the south east corner of Mill Street and Princess Street.

      This brick house was built for John Bradley in 1864. It was located on lot 25 of Concession 5 in Whitby Township. The house was later owned by Thomas Coakwell and William Franklin Batty. The veranda around the house was destroyed by Hurricane Hazel in October 1954. The house was …
