      The Minnewaska Hotel, originally built in 1897, was later (1908-1916)converted to a private sanitarium for the treatment of tuberculosis. In its third life, it was used as a prisoner-of-war camp, Camp Calydor, during World War II.

      The second bandstand, which replaced the original in 1929, was much larger. It opened in September with a Citizen's Band concert featuring a coronet solo by Rocco Morra and euphonium solo by J. W. Reid.

      Bracebridge Public Library as it appeared in the 1970's on Manitoba Street next to the Uptown Esso station. The library has remained in this location since 1908 but the Esso station has been replaced by The Old Station restaurant.

      The original water pump is being moved down Manitoba Street around 1880 to the pump house for town water. Note the Hess Furniture building behind the Morris Blacksmithing building.

      Built by Gordon Hill in 1921, Limberlost had 200 miles of trails for riding, hiking and cross-country skiing. In 1941, Snow Trains transported tourists from Buffalo, Rochester and Toronto up to Limberlost.

      The Gateway at the south end of Gravenhurst was originally constructed in 1925 when the Ferguson Highway was completed, allowing automobile traffic. It has undergone several renovations - this appears to be one from the 1990's perhaps.

      The birthplace of Norman Bethune, which was the Presbyterian manse in 1890, the year of his birth, has become a very popular museum, especially with Chinese tourists.       The birthplace of Dr. Norman Bethune was the Presbyterian manse in Gravenhurst in 1890 where Dr. Bethune's father served as minister. It was sold to the federal government in 1973 and officially opened in 1976 as a memorial to an outstanding Canadian.
