      Jackfish Coal Dock wooden tower in the process of being rebuilt by crew in 1919. This coal dock was blown over in a storm on Lake Superior, March, 1919.

      The residents of Terrace Bay went to South Camp for medical attention,church services, mail, banking and recreation, as seen in this photo from 1947.

      As seen in this photo, fun and recreation were important to the residents and employees of the mill town of Terrace Bay, Ontario. Shown here are gentlemen curling in South Camp, Terrace Bay, Ontario.

      The people in this photo are probably taking a break from their labour at the Empress Mines. In 1898, Empress Mines were 10 km to the east of Terrace Bay. Empress Mine operated between 1895-1900 and was known to have some high grade gold bearing quartz.
