      The hospital was a convalescent home for soldiers of the Great War from 1917 to 1919. This picture was taken looking east from one of the cottages.

      This was one of about twenty cottages built at the hospital between 1913 and 1916. This cottage was used as a vocational school during the military period from 1917-1919 for rehabilitating soldiers from the First World War.

      The hospital was a convalescent home for First World War soldiers from 1917 to 1919. There were two annex buildings at the hospital and they were located at the northern limit of the hospital complex. These buildings were demolished in the 1960s.

      Two Nurses' Residences were officially opened by Mrs. W.j. Hanna on August 15, 1923. They were called the "Lena Davis Home" and the "Naomi Barker Home" after two nurses who died during the First World War. They served as Nurses' Residences until the new residence was opened in 1963.

      The Ontario Hospital was built in 1917. The barn at left is the site of the new nurses' residence, built in 1961-63 and demolished in 2005.

      The recreation hall was built specially for the soldiers in 1917 when the hospital was a military convalescent facility. Some time after this photograph was taken, stucco was put over the red tile walls.

      The Barn was built in 1919 for the Ontario Hospital at the south-east corner of Base Line and Farm Road. It was one of the largest barns in the province. It was destroyed by fire on November 4, 1976.

      These buildings were constructed in 1917 or 1918 at the end of the hospital complex. The west building was demolished around 1961 and the east annex was demolished in 1970.

      The infirmaries at Ontario Hospital were built in 1916.
