      The letter was written from the military headquarters at 4 Mile Creek on September 17th (or 19th), 1813. Shaw was requesting that Ten Broeck's company rendezvous at the head quarters. During this time, the Americans were occupying Niagara (Niagara-on-the-Lake) and Fort George. Script in ink on water marked paper "Britannia".
