      Old and rusted. The base held kerosene, a flammable liquid. The glass chimney was temporarily lifted in order for the wick to be lite with a match and fueled with the kerosene before it was placed back down.

      Wooden toy muskets were also used as training tools for military recruits; including those in World War I due to a shortage of real rifles to train with.

      Large. Made of wood. Large hoop on the end, which was where messages were looped to pass on between the telegrapher and the engineer or conductor of the train. This was done when the train was passing by but not stopping.

      This is a model of South Bethesda United Church on Dale Road. It was built by Sandy Campbell in honour of the church's 150th Anniversary. It is currently with us on loan.

      This large map is an aerial representative of Cobourg in 1867 and is based off of the 1874 bird's eye map by Mr. Brosius. This map was made by a group of Museum Foundation volunteers to celebrate Canada's 150th Anniversary and Cobourg's 180th Anniversary.
