Results

      Mackey Park is situated where St. Narcissus Parish used to be located. The church was demolished in 1950 when the Des Joachims (Swisha) Dam rose the water level of the Ottawa River. The community of Mackey Station (now called Mackey) had to be relocated to higher ground.

      The first chapel was built in Mackey in 1891 and blessed by Bishop Narcisse Zephirin Lorrain in 1895. This photograph was likely taken between 1940-1942 when the poster commemorating the first three Pastors was created.

      St. Narcissus became a Parish in 1926, taking over from its former alma mater St. Ann's in Mattawa. Rev. Drohan was at the Parish from 1926 to 1936. Rev Schruder was at St. Narcissus from 1936-1940, and Rev Grier was at the Parish from 1940-1942
