      Wooden Mallets are typically used by carpenters to knock wooden pieces together or drive chisels into wood. Wood mallets do not deform the metal tools as much as a metal mallet would and provides much better control with less force.

      The Ontario Hospital was a mental hospital located in the old Victoria College building in 1921. Between 1921 and 1973 this hospital was strictly for female patients. In 1974 it was renamed D'Arcy Place and shortly after that it was moved to D'Arcy street, leaving the building empty once again.

      A small, decorative leaflet in memory of Alexander Morrison, the late husband of Elizabeth Anthony, who was killed in action in France during WWI.

      Made of coarse fabric (most likely khaki). A green, slide on epaulet with “CANADA” stitched onto the bottom. No markings to indicate what year it is from or where it was manufactured.

      Wooden doll house. This piece was owned by Marlene Sandercock between 1940-2014. When she passed away her husband, Don Sandercock, donated it to our museum. Over their years of travelling Marlene and Don had collected many miniature furniture pieces, some of which are featured in the photo.

      The appearance is similar to miniature Ostlind Looms from the 1930s.

      This large map is an aerial representative of Cobourg in 1867 and is based off of the 1874 bird's eye map by Mr. Brosius. This map was made by a group of Museum Foundation volunteers to celebrate Canada's 150th Anniversary and Cobourg's 180th Anniversary.

      This is a model of South Bethesda United Church on Dale Road. It was built by Sandy Campbell in honour of the church's 150th Anniversary. It is currently with us on loan.

      There are no manufacturer markings on this piece to indicate where it was made, although there was a manufacturer on Division Street in Cobourg. The machine says “Household” and the treadle is engraved, “PTC”.

      The replica also acts as a 'can you find it?' game for visitors.
