Results

      On 5 September 1913, the Whitby Town Council visited Oakville and Weston to inspect the sewer systems of these communities. Engineer T. Aird Murray who built the systems, conducted the tour. The council had lunch at the Village Inn.

      The cornerstone of the Oakville High School located on Reynolds Street was laid in 1908, prior to that it had been housed in the old Oakville Public School building. in 1947 it was renamed Oakville Trafalgar High School. In 1992 it was moved to its current location on Devon Road.

      Pumping station was located between Kerr and Wilson Streets where the current Oakville Water Purification Plant is. The pumping station was built between 1908-1909.

      Between 1908 and 1909, a water system was installed through Oakville. The system reservoir was built near Lake Ontario between Kerr and Wilson Streets. Building this system, meant fire department services could be better organized. This photograph is mounted as a post card.
