      In December of 1914 the Cobourg Heavy Battery (which had been demobilized in October of the same year) was called up again as the 2nd Canadian Heavy Battery. The unit returned in 1919.

      In 1935 the 22nd Medium Battery won the distinction of winning the Governor-General's Trophy for efficiency. To win this coveted honour, the battery competed against batteries from all sections of the Dominion while at the Petawawa Camp.
