      The Canadian Army Medical Corps operated its General Hospital No. 9 at Shorncliffe from Sept. 1917 to Dec. 1918. The General Hospital No. 11 operated there from Sept. 1917 to Sept. 1919.

      The technology embedded in today's digital camera photographs such as GPS location, compass orientation so we know which way the photographer was facing, date, even time of day will do more to help historians with these questions in the future.

      During World War I, when Victoria College was no longer a school, it became a convalescent hospital for soldiers returning from the trenches of World War I. Almost all the patients were victims of shell-shock. It closed as a military hospital in 1920.
