They purchased the ruins of a knitting factory destroyed by fire several years before and had it rebuilt. It was near the railway station.

 Peter Jones, Georgetown Herald (Georgetown, ON), 13 Jul 1961, p. 1     A Parade in honour of Orange Day wends its way down Main Street on 8th July 1961, in front of Cotton Brothers and Hotel McGibbon, past large concrete sewer pipes placed for installation. The large parade attracted 79 lodges with an estimated 2500 participants.
