      Frederick Diebald, a lad of 16 years, was knocked off the tug Hattie Jordan by the towline at Escanaba on Thursday of last week and was drowned. The tug was towing a sand scow at the time.

      The steambarge Edward Buckley, Capt. Wm. Gnewuch, arrived in port Wednesday morning and the same day was docked at the shipyard for a searching up and to stop a small leak. The Buckley will make one more trip and then go into winter quarters at Manistee.
