      The Three Sisters in the Canadian Rockies are probably recognized by more people driving along the Trans-Canada Highway than any of the other mountains in Alberta. The mountain peaks were individually named in 1883 as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister.

      The Hugh Waddell Memorial Hospital in Canora, Saskatchewan, built in 1913 and closed in 1968, was located on Pacific Street just north of Daniels Drive. Mary Waddell of Peterborough, Ontario, donated money to the Presbyterian Church for construction of a hospital in her husband's name.

      Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916) was a British Field Marshal and statesman. Born in Ireland, he drowned when his armored cruiser (ship) struck a mine and sank west of the Orkney Islands. Out of 655 on board, only 12 survived.
