      The Great Gorge Route was a popular Niagara river attraction from 1895 - 1935. This electric trolley line ran from Niagara Falls (Prospect Park) to Lewiston, NY along the banks of the Niagara River, with a bridge crossing at Queenston, Ontario.

      Laura Secord Memorial School in Queenston was built and funded in part by Queenston Women's Institute and Buffalo businessman John D. Larkin. It was opened in 1915 and stayed opened till 2010.

      The second Queenston - Lewiston Suspension Bridge was officially opened on July 21st 1899, connecting two railway lines which operated along Canadian and American shorelines. This old suspension bridge was dismantled in 1963.
