      The hospital was opened in Tillsonburg, Ontario, on March 22, 1926, and was named the Soldiers Memorial Hospital. It was erected in memory of the soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War. Since its opening, it had undergone number renovations and had additions constructed.

      In 1854 the Tillsonburg fair began with 70 members, in 1863 George Tillson gave 4 acres of land to the fair. These 4 acres were located on Ridout Street north west of Bidwell. The fair grounds have since been moved to the current location.

      The fire started in Astoria Cafe, and also wiped out the "Met", Vogue Beauty Shoppe, Stancell's Meat Market, Esther's Dress Shoppe, as well as eight apartment buildings.

      Mil Mar Manor was an event venue and banquet hall just outside of Tillsonburg, it was owned by Punk and Marg Milmine. The manor burnt down in January of 1980.
