      This Theatre was built in 1915 (on the site of Mr. Campbell's blacksmith shop) by Mrs. Norris for the entertainment of troops garrisoned in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake during the First World War. After being a movie theatre for many years, it is now operated by the Shaw Festival Theatre.

      The Shaw Guild is a group of volunteers dedicated to assist and support the Shaw Festival Theatre Foundation. It was established in 1974 as the Shaw Festival Guild (later shortened to the Shaw Guild) when a set of by-laws was prepared and men were invited to join as volunteers.

      The letter was written from the military headquarters at 4 Mile Creek on September 17th (or 19th), 1813. Shaw was requesting that Ten Broeck's company rendezvous at the head quarters. During this time, the Americans were occupying Niagara (Niagara-on-the-Lake) and Fort George. Script in ink on water marked paper "Britannia".

      This is a handwritten letter, dated June 28, 1815, authorizing the payment of 63 pounds, 12 shilling and 81/2 pence to Mrs. Campbell, wife of Fort-Major Campbell, for war losses. In addition this document includes a fragment of the envelope addressed to Mrs. Major Campbell, Windsor, Nova Scotia.

      This is a memo discussing how Mrs. Campbell's, wife of Fort-Major Donald Campbell, request for fuel and candles was authorized and ready to be distributed. It is dated February 19th, 1814 which means Mrs. Campbell made the request during the winter months following the burning of Niagara in December 1813.
