      The 34th Regiment was militia for Ontario County. They were known as the 34th Regiment from 1866 until 1920. After such time they became known as Ontario Regiment (RCAC). This group is sometimes also referred to as the 34th (Ontario) Battalion.

      This is the South-west corner of Victoria Ave (Reg. Rd. 24) and Highway 8 (Reg. Rd 81). On a different copy of this postcard is the date "November 18, 1912".

      This is the old Dunham Hotel. On the right of the garage shown was Green’s Livery. Mac McGuire, father of Jack McGuire, opened up the first garage in Cobourg.

      This photo is an original. A photocopy duplicate exisits in this collection. Handwritten notes on the back read "Austen Nelles, From Bob McNee" Additional information about the Thessalon Lumber Co.indicates it operated from about 1907-08 to 1915.

      This postcard depicts a class at the Oakland Public School in 1910. The teacher is Kate Halliday Hunter, who briefly taught there; however, she was married on December 28th, 1910, and at that time married women were not permitted to teach. The postcard was sent to her, and dated 1912. …

      The Three Sisters in the Canadian Rockies are probably recognized by more people driving along the Trans-Canada Highway than any of the other mountains in Alberta. The mountain peaks were individually named in 1883 as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister.
