      Audrey Johnson was a Civil Defence Ambulance Driver in England, 1942. She worked with the Mobile Hospital in Banstead, Surrey from 1940-1944.

      Alvin Bumby joined the Royal Canadian Signal Corps in Hamilton the first week after war broke out in 1939, and was overseas from 1939-1946. Irene Bumby worked "on relief" as a registered nurse in England from 1939-1944 and moved to Canada as a war bride in 1946.

      "Jimmie" William James Andrew Gibb was a Gunner for the Second Canadian Field Regiment of the Royal Canadian Artillery, First Division. He served in Italy 1943-1945.

      Audrey Johnson worked with the Mobile Hospital in Banstead, Surrey from 1940-1944.

      Arthur Kemp, from Burlington, became the Honorary Colonel, Lorne Scots. Donald Elmore Leaver served as infantry reinforcment officer. He joined the Algonquin Regiment and fought as a platoon commander in France, Belgium, and Holland. He was wounded in Holland in 1944.

      Kenneth Dean Marlatt joined the 9th Mississauga Horse during the First World War. He went overseas in France with the 4th Battalion Canadian Mounted Rifles.

      The Palmers were the first Canadians to wed in England during the war. Zouch Palmer, with the Canadian Field Artillery, married Peggy Palmer, daughter of Brigadier General H.D. G. Crerar, in the garrison church in Aldershot, England. They moved to Oakville in 1947.

      The Sinclairs met in Surrey, England, during the war, and married there. Margaret came to live in Canada in May 1946 after William returned home from the war in January 1946.
