      This 1887 receipt notes that the collector had received M. A. Stowe's taxes for that year, totalling $2.23 - $1.20 for regular taxes, and $1.03 for school taxes. It was printed on page 231 of The Work of Our Hands by Sharon Jaeger, and was provided by Linda Guest.

      Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant

      While non-period notes on the postcard date it to 1912-14, it is a style of Azo postcard produced from approximately 1905-09 and may or may not date to that period.

      A note on the postcard suggests that the photograph may have been taken in 1906, while both the 1¢ Quebec Centenary stamp and postmark indicate it was mailed in 1908.

      This postcard is printed on Eastman Kodak Velox paper, missing the usual distinctive "Velox" watermark or logo, possibly c. 1903-04. The original copy of this photograph suffers from degradation known as "silvering;" this online version has been restored. The original, unenhanced version is also available.

      The postcard was printed on Azo photo paper, which dates it to the early 20th century - this style of Azo card dates roughly 1904 - 1918, although the photograph may have been taken earlier. It does not appear to have been mailed, because the stamp window is uncovered.

      The postcard is undated, but the partially faded postmark suggests it was mailed in 1914.
