      Ernest Northam was perhaps the greatest athlete in the history of Whitby High School. He successively won the Sir Hector Langevin Cup for four years between 1926-1929.

      This building was located at 121 Brock Street North. W.E. Hewis' Meat MArket was located in the south store of the Hewis Block on the east side of Brock Street North.

      Herb Wilson’s Meat Market was located at 114 Dundas Street West on the north side of Dundas Street about mid way between Byron and Brock Streets. The store was built in 1922 by Tony Bandel as a butcher shop.

      Turansky Grocery Store was located at 148 Brock Street North. In 1924 Katherine Turansky (wife of Joseph Turansky) opened a grocery store in an old house at 148 Brock Street North.

      Sinclair School was built on the north side of Concession 4 (Taunton Road) east of Garden Street in 1874. It was used as a school until it closed in 1979. Sinclair School was demolished in 1992.
