      This 1887 receipt notes that the collector had received M. A. Stowe's taxes for that year, totalling $2.23 - $1.20 for regular taxes, and $1.03 for school taxes. It was printed on page 231 of The Work of Our Hands by Sharon Jaeger, and was provided by Linda Guest.
