      Not much is known about Mrs. John Morphy, although her maiden name was Anne Elizabeth Laing. Anne was born 01 May 1829 in Fermanagh, Ireland, and died in Oshawa on 01 May 1892. This photo has significant tearing damage.

      Condition: Photo is very dirty and stained; image is purposely brown toned and the paper has turned yellow/brown fairly severely making image appear faded. Photo is in okay condition.

      This is a view of the village of Huntsville, looking east, in 1886, the year the railway arrived. The white building on the right is Jacob's Hotel, later the Dominion Hotel and then the Empire Hotel,located at the corner of Main and Centre Streets.
